New Freshmen

For first-time incoming students coming to UW-Stout in the fall, read on:

Enrollment Checklist
 
Upon acceptance Set up your UW-Stout email account. You will automatically receive a Life at Stout booklet in the mail that will include Housing directions. Follow the online process to sign your contract and pay your $125 housing pre-payment fee to hold your residence hall space. Students who sign up before March 1st will receive priority room selection!
October 2019 Stout University Foundation Scholarship Application is available online.
October 2019 FAFSA for 2019-20 academic year available using 2017 tax year information.
October - November 2019 Come visit us during Campus Preview Days and Stout Saturdays!
February 15, 2020 Priority deadline for FAFSA to be eligible for financial need-based scholarships through the Stout Foundation Scholarship Application.
March 2020 Receive Registration and Orientation information.
March 2020 Receive your Housing roommate questionnaire, room preferences, and University Dining Plan selection information.  Please follow the directions sent from University Housing to complete this through the Housing Gateway. Check your UW-Stout email for this! 
Beginning April 1, 2020 Minnesota residents register for reciprocity. Registration is available online.
June 1,2,4,5, 2020 Register for First-Year Registration and Orientation.
June 8,9,11,12, 2020 Register for First-Year Registration and Orientation.
June 15,16,18,19, 2020 Register for First-Year Registration and Orientation.
June 2020 Check your UW-Stout email for your room selection directions, and how to review your roommate information, residence hall assignment, and move-in guide.  Please follow directions sent by University Housing to know your room selection day and time and steps to choose and review your room selection.
June 2020 Sign the Fee Payment Agreement in Access Stout.
June 2020 Be sure to request final high school transcripts showing your graduation date, and have college/university transcripts sent to the UW-Stout Admissions Office.
August 2020 Check your UW-Stout email for move-in instructions from University Housing.
August 2020 Sign Master Promissory Notes (MPN) online prior to beginning classes (Access Stout).
September 6, 2020 Move in to your residence hall.
September 9, 2020 Classes begin!
 

Transfer Students

Transferring to UW-Stout? First choose which semester you'll be arriving on campus:

Fall Semester Checklist
Upon Acceptance Set up your UW-Stout email account.  You will automatically receive a Life at Stout booklet in the mail that will include Housing directions.  Follow the online process to sign your contract and pay your $125 housing pre-payment fee to hold your residence hall space.  Students who sign up before March 1st will receive priority room selection! Students eligible to live off-campus and plan to do so will still have to complete some information in the Housing Gateway.
   
Oct 2019 Stout University Foundation Scholarship Application is available online.
Oct 1, 2019 FAFSA for 2019-20 academic year available using 2017 tax year information.
Oct - Nov 2019 Come visit us during our Campus Preview Days, Transfer Days and Stout Saturdays.
Feb 3, 2020 Stout University Foundation Scholarship Applications due.
Feb 15, 2020 If you applied for Stout University Foundation Scholarships: Priority deadline for FAFSA.
Feb - March 2020 and ongoing Receive Registration information, including how to complete your Student Account Contract.
March 2020 If you signed a Housing contract: Receive your Housing roommate questionnaire, room preferences, and University Dining Plan selection information.  Please follow the directions sent from University Housing to complete this through the Housing Gateway. Check your UW-Stout email for this! 
March 1, 2020 Portfolio due for all Art & Design BFA programs by noon. Check your acceptance letter for information about how to submit your portfolio.
March 15, 2020 Priority deadline for FAFSA. Meet this date to ensure your financial aid is ready in the fall.
Beginning April 1, 2020 Minnesota residents register for reciprocity. Registration is available online.
Mid-April 2020 and ongoing Register for classes.
June 8, 2020 Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship application due.
June 8, 2020 Final college transcripts due to the Admissions Office to be considered for the Transfer Student Scholarship.
June 2020 Financial aid award letters posted to Access Stout.

July 2020 Parking permit registration begins. Registration available online.
Aug 2020 Log in to Access Stout for your fall semester billing information.
Aug 2020 If you signed a Housing contract: Receive move-in instructions from University Housing.
Aug 2020 Master Promissory Notes (MPN) must be signed online prior to beginning classes.
Aug 30, 2020 Final deadline to submit your official college transcripts showing Spring 2020 grades from your prior school to the Admissions Office.
Sep 6, 2020 Move into your residence hall.
Sep 9, 2020 Classes begin!
 
Spring Semester Checklist
 
April 1, 2019 Online application is open for the Spring 2020 semester (recommended deadline: November 1). The Admissions Office begins reviewing complete applications as they are submitted.
Any time and ongoing FAFSA for 2019-2020 academic year available.
Any time and ongoing Parking permit registration begins. Registration available online.
October 1, 2019 at noon Priority deadline for portfolio/essay due for all Art & Design BFA programs. Check your acceptance letter for information about how to submit your portfolio.
Any time after acceptance Minnesota residents register for reciprocity. Registration is available online.
October – November 2019 Come visit us during our Campus Preview Days, Transfer Days and Stout Saturdays.
